PRLog (Press Release) –
Jul 16, 2009 – No garden hose for Denver area detailer!
Home car washing is not exempt from Denver’s recent watering restrictions. However, if you get Drew Pancroft to do the job, the cost could be a lot more than the fine you would get for breaking the law. That's because his Denver, Colorado detail service, Zenith Detail, offers the services for its multi-stage “Reserve High Gloss Detail” service for a bank breaking $3600.00 - that's as much as the latest and greatest ground-thumping car audio system!
To find out exactly what you get for your money, we met up with Drew in the exclusive Cherry Hills Farms neighborhood where he was busy 'cleaning' a local athletes Lamborghini Murcielago. "I don't buff-out cars," Drew quickly pointed out. "What Zenith does is detailing, which is the systematic rejuvenation of a vehicle's individual surfaces." Translated, this essentially means Zenith Detail can make the painted finish look better that if it's just rolled off the production line.
Pancroft added: "Most brand new Ferraris are not finished perfectly in the factory. They may have a few blemishes, but Zenith eliminates these imperfections and creates a flawless finish." So how does he make a $250,000 orange Murcielago sparkle even brighter? Well, as he explained, there are three main phases to the “Reserve” process.
The Cleanse
The first is washing, which is done with purified water, a rare organic shampoo and super-soft natural sea sponge. The bodywork is then dried using various hi-tech cloths of varying grades, before contaminants are removed with special clay which looks a bit like Play doe. All this is a full day's work for Zenith.
The Correction
The next phase is paintwork correction, which can take a week. Pancroft explains: "Most polishes are very aggressive, and while they can remove scratches fast, they effectively replace these with a lot of smaller ones which show up as swirls in direct sunlight. Zenith uses a gentle polish in order to get the paint to reflect light like a mirror. The only drawback is that it is very labor-intensive to apply."
The Protection
The finale of the “Reserve Detail” is application four coats of Swissvax Crystal Rock Carnauba Wax, which is applied by hand over a 96-hour period.
Care has to be taken not to waste any; at $1,000.00 per 8oz. tub, it's more expensive per gram than gold. But for those who can't afford such extravagance, there's always Zenith Detail's entry-level detail, The Platinum High Gloss Detail. It starts at a mere $240.00!
