Local Career Coaches’ Job Search and Resume Advice Leads to Clients Landing Jobs

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 27, 2009 – SAN DIEGO – While San Diego’s unemployment rate jumped above 10 percent during the month of June, two local career coaches are seeing a different point of view. Pattie Vargas and Linda Amaro, co-founders of NextWork™, have helped four clients secure new jobs in the last few weeks, in positions ranging from office administrator to business analyst. The career transition services company provides San Diego job seekers with resume writing assistance, DISC behavioral coaching, and career and accountability coaching.
Amaro notes, “We work with as many as 35 individuals at one time and continue to see that number rise daily. Despite what the reports are telling us, there are jobs available in San Diego. Now job seekers are realizing that professional insight helps get a foot in the door with a standout resume. With so many of our clients landing new jobs and receiving invitations to second-round interviews over the last several months, we know that the guidance of a trusted career coach truly makes a difference in getting ahead of the competition.”
In the coming months, NextWork will host a “Pay-It-Forward” networking event for San Diego job seekers and recruiters, a resume-building workshop, and two full-day seminars to discuss topics ranging from the hidden job market and resume strategies to “STAR” stories and interview tips.
